I love countryside roads traveling the not so traveled gravel and dirt byways through the rural dotted with farms, crops, cows of course, and the abandoned. Throughout the years I’ve worn out thick, over-sized tires and a truck putting in too many miles to count. There is something to standing on a countryside road, in the middle of nowhere, with the high sun beating down as the clouds chase each other in the sky. At that moment there are no humans; just nature. The dusty road leads off to the horizon in either direction.
I do not get out on the countryside roads like I used to in the not so far past due to a chronic illness. Yet, I still have the love to bump along deep and wide lost in the countryside… and the memories. There are new horizons and roads ahead, though, in that of the journey of healing and life.
